At Rolling Meadows High School, we believe that we have pulled the best thinking in education together to create an organizing framework to truly create lasting and significant change and improvement in schools. Almost daily, educators are bombarded with new programs and ideas that have the effect of confusing priorities and needs. By using this framework, we have been able organize all of this information in a way that ensures that our strategic plan is implemented, executed and maintains the highest levels of quality.

There are five basic components of the Rolling Meadows High School Model for Student Achievement. The graphic for the model consists of three triangles within a larger triangle. This large triangle exists within two circles. The small triangles consist of Professional Learning Teams, Response to Intervention and Social-Emotional Learning. The inner circle represents Teacher Leadership and the outer circle represents a system of Continual Quality Improvement . These components ensure that all aspects of schooling are considered when addressing student achievement. None of these components was developed by the members of the faculty or administration of Rolling Meadows High School. We gladly defer to those who precede us in these arenas. We may have tweaked their methods to fit within our model and capture synergies that we have found to be apparent in our model. There is a large wealth of information for each of these five components. Each of the components link to a wealth of resources. We have established “project champions” for each of the components. These champions ensure that our work meets the needs of our students and those reported by our staff members. These champions manage teams and oversee teams who operate sub-teams. Follow the links to see just some of the examples of programs that our teams have implemented, the action plans for improvement implementation and execution, and our future endeavors in these areas. |
