Sra. Cichy's Classroom Procedures

General Expectations

1. Come to class with all materials everyday. This includes your textbook, workbook, notebook, completed homework, pen and pencil. A pencil is required to enter the lab. No pencil, no entrance.

2. Come to class on time. Tardies may result in a detention and/or points off your grade. Excessive tardiness will be referred to the Division Head or Dean.

3. No hats, coats, walkmans, calculators, translators, food, drinks, or gum in class.

4. Do not do other class work in Spanish class. It will be taken away and not returned.

5. Keep your head up. You will be asked to stand if you put your head down.

6. No passes will be given to leave the room.

Absences and Make-up Work

1. You have two days to make up work for an excused absence. This means you must come and see me on a day that we don't meet for class. You may find me before school, after school, or during Seminar. After two days, missing work (including quizzes and tests) becomes a zero.

2. No credit is given for work missed during a cut or unexcused absence.

Homework

1. You should expect homework every class. To receive credit, it must be on time and 100% complete. No credit or half credit is given to work that is late or incomplete.

2. You are responsible for writing down your homework and quizzes in an assignment notebook. Do not come ask me if you were too lazy to write it down.

Grading

1. No credit will be given for work that is late, incomplete, illegible, without a name, or done in colored ink.

2. Cheating or assisting someone to cheat will result in an automatic zero.

3. Talking during a quiz or test, even if yours is turned in, will result in points off your grade or a zero.

4. No extra credit will be offered. If you are struggling and want a higher grade, come in for help to improve your understanding of the topics we are studying in class.

5. Quizzes and daily work account for 40% of your grade, tests are 45%, and homework and participation together are 15% of your grade.

6. The final exam will be cumulative and count for approximately 15% of your semester grade. If you fail the final your semester grade will be lowered by one letter grade.
