2. Pencil (for Language Lab)
3. Book (Discovering French, Blanc by McDougal Littell) and Workbooks
4. Dry eraser marker

Grading System:
10% Behavior and participation
10% Homework
35% Quizzes and Practice
45% Tests

BEHAVIOR GRADE
Everyday you may earn a stamp for behavior if you arrive on time, have your homework, bring all your materials (textbook, workbook, pencil and organized binder) and have no behavior problems. I will count the stamps at the end of each chapter and will record your grade.

PARTICIPATION GRADE
Use every minute of class time to learn French! Be an active listener (listen even when I am asking someone else a question). Volunteer! Guess! Each chapter, it is your responsibility to come and see me for a conversation stamp. You can come in before/after school, during seminar, or right before/after class.

HOMEWORK GRADE
You should expect to receive homework every time we have class. Doing your homework daily is important because it gives you a chance to practice writing what you have practiced saying in class. You will be given a homework stamp for each completed assignment. Some of the homework assignments will be turned in for a grade. No credit will be given unless it is 100% complete. No late homework is accepted.

QUIZZES AND TESTS
If your are caught cheating or assisting someone to cheat on any given assignment, quiz, or test you will receive an automatic zero. Talking during a test or quiz, even if yours is turned in, will result in points taken off your grade. Make-ups due to absences must be taken or at least scheduled with me within 2 days of your return. Students absent the class before a quiz or test but present the day it was announced are expected to take the schedules quiz or test provided no new material was covered.

Because I believe that learning the material is very important, you may retake any quiz you want before the unit test. I will replace your old grade with the new grade that you receive on your retake. In order to retake a quiz, you must study the material and then come in to see me before/after school or during seminar. During that time, I will help you study for your quiz. When you have demonstrated that you understand the material, you may retake the quiz. (You may not retake the quiz on the same day that you come in for help.)

Habits of Work:
The following are guidelines that must be followed to insure your success in French:
-Do your homework on the day it is assigned not the day it is due.
-Use your book and/or notes when doing any practice work to look up correct answers.
-Study vocab 10-15 minutes on the days that class does not meet.
-Use the on-line resources to study before a test or quiz
-Get help immediately! Do not let yourself fall behind!

Homework Policy/Procedures:
I don't ask that your homework be 100% correct. I only ask that you complete it. Use your book and your notes. If you have any questions or don't understand the homework, it is your responsablity to come in and get help.

Remember you only get credit if your homework is 100% complete.

Make-up Policy/Procedures:
It is your responsibility to find out the work that you missed during your absence. When you are absent it is your responsibility to come see me the day between (the day class does not meet) to find out missed assignments, schedule test/quiz make-ups and/or to turn in the homework that was due during the absence. This way you will be caught up and ready to go the next day the class meets.

If you are absent the the only way to earn your daily behavior points is to see me the day before class meets or (if you are absent the day between classes) by 7:15 the morning of your return to school. If your absence is de to a feild trip, you will only earn behavior points by coming before your feild trip to find out what you will miss.

In order to complete the course outcomes, you must make up all work. However, you will not receive credit for work missed as a result of a cut or truancy.

Assessments:
Each unit contains 4 quizzes and a unit test.
