Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble are the host bands for the annual Jazz in the Meadows Jazz Festival. Enrollment in these classes is determined by audition. Jazz Band II, the entry level group, meets on Tuesday nights from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Jazz Ensemble I, the advanced group, meets on Tuesday nights from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Sectionals are scheduled as well. The Jazz Bands study a wide variety of advanced jazz styles, including: swing, Latin, bebop, funk, and many others. These ensembles will perform at two or three college festivals, various community events, 8th Grade Dessert Night,the Holiday Assembly, Jazz in the Meadows, grade school tours, and the Spring Jazz Concert.

To be a part of the Jazz Bands, students must be enrolled in either Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Instrumental Ensemble I or II, Harmony and Arranging, Guitar, or Orchestra. The Jazz program is an extension of the regualr concert band program.
