RATINGS
AND AWARDS
For schools participating in the ratings format,
four divisions of high school jazz ensembles and one
division of junior high school jazz ensembles will be
established by dividing the total number of bands according
to official school enrollments grades 9-12. High school and
junior high school ensembles will be rated as either: I -
Excellent (scoring 82-100), II - Good (scoring 68-81.9), or
III - Satisfactory (scoring below 67.9). Ensembles scoring
an overall excellent rating will receive an award plaque.
The overall ratings will be determined by the average of the
ratings given by each judge (not the average of points). In
each high school division (including combo), the
adjudicators will select one Honors Ensemble to perform in
the afternoon Grand Finale Concert. Honors Ensembles, as
well as second and third places, in each division will
receive trophies commemorating their special achievement.
