 Senior Guidance Booklet

 Senior Guidance Presentation
Mr. Yerkan conducted several presentations as part of Senior Guidance in September, 2012. Click on the link above to view the powerpoint presentation.  The parent version of the presentation was conducted at 7PM on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, in the RMHS Theatre.
 
 Junior Guidance Booklet
 


 
A booklet with some great ideas for juniors was presented to the class of 2014 during junior guidance in November of 2012. You can download a pdf copy of the booklet by clicking on the link above.
 
 Junior Guidance Presentation
Mr. Yerkan conducted several presentations as part of Junior Guidance in November of 2012.  You can click on the link above to view a pdf of the powerpoint presentation.  The parent version of the presentation will conducted at 7PM on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, in the RMHS Theatre.
 
 Advanced Placement (AP) Classes              (AP Credit)
Interested in taking a challenging, college-level course while still in high school?  Research shows that students who take at least one AP class while in high school have a higher success rate at colleges and universities.  As an added bonus you may even be able to earn college credit after taking the AP Exam for the course!  To find out what AP score is needed for credit at different schools, click on AP Credit, above.

 D214 Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
 Night
Timmi Turley, Senior Assistant Director of Admission at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will be our presenter again this year at the Annual D214 University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Night which will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at the Forest View Educational Center (FVEC), 2121 So. Goebbert Road (Arlington Heights).  The program will begin at 7PM.
 

 
So You Want To Go To College? Presentation
During the month of October Mr. Yerkan conducted several presentations promoting a college going culture among underclassmen. The presentations were made as part of the Sophomore Guidance Program and focused upon the things students can be doing to prepare themselves for college.  A similar presentation, for D214 families, was conducted at the Forest View Educational Center on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at 7PM.  You can view a pdf of the program by clicking on the link above. 
 
 D214 Athletic Night
D214's Annual Athletic Night Program was held on Monday, November 12, 2012, in the Forest View Educational Center (FVEC) Theatre, 2121 South Goebbert Rd., in Arlington Heights.  The presenter for the program was Maureen A.  District 214 Senior Financial Aid Night
The District 214 College Counselors hosted the annual Financial Aid Night for seniors and their parents on Wednesday, December 12, 2012.  The program was held in the D100 rooms of the Forest View Educational Center (FVEC).  Our scheduled presenter, Mr. Jerry Cebrzynski, Director of Financial Aid at Lake Forest College, was unable to conduct the presentation this year.  Replacing him was Mark Anderson, Associate Director of Financial Aid, also at Lake Forest College.  Over 650 people were in attendance at the event this year.  Unable to attend the event?  District 214 Junior Financial Aid Night
The District 214 College Counselors hosted a financial aid night for juniors and their parents on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in the D100 rooms at the Forest View Educational Center (2121 Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights). The program was presented by Mr. John Hammond, College Counselor at Wheeling High School.  District 214 STEM Night
