Upper-level French students, led by Kirsten Fletcher and Effie Kalkounos of Elk Grove High School and Sara Kahle-Ruiz of Rolling Meadows High School, recently returned from a whirlwind tour of France, Switzerland and the principality of Monaco.

The itinerary included Paris and its beautiful landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysées and L’Arche de Triomphe. Students then took the TGV- train de grande vitesse, France’s superfast bullet train, to Switzerland. Their stops in Switzerland included Geneva and Louasane, where students witnessed the beautiful Alp mountains.

After Switzerland, the group went to Grenoble, France, a beautiful mountain town where students saw breathtaking views. Then, students stopped in the magical town of Annecy with its pristine lake and backdrop of the Alp mountains.

Students then boarded a bus to Provence, the south of France, which has a sunny climate, exquisite beaches and Mediterranean flair. The groups finished their trip in Nice, where they visited the beach, walked through the Promenade des Anglais and enjoyed lovely French food like salade niçoise, crepes, croissants au chocolat and more.
