LOGGING ON:

Name:  Type your last name in lowercase letters followed by your ID number.  Do NOT

             Put a space between your name and ID #.  (Example:  taylor709203)

Password:  Type your birth date in 6 digits.  Do NOT use slashes or spaces between the

                    numbers.  (Example:   072684)

ITEMS AND APPLICATIONS:

  1. Open Macintosh HD.
  2. At left side of window, open Applications.

FIND A BOOK:

FIND A MAGAZINE ARTICLE:

  1. Click on District 214 Library Resources.
  2. Under ’Newspapers’ click on Newsbank.
  3.  In the search bar, enter the word “Iraq” then click on SEARCH.
  4.  Question #2:  Once you have opened any current article about Iraq, copy and paste the title to your Word Document answer page.  Quick-save your answer!
  5.  Click on the Home icon at the top of the window and return to the RMHS    Library Homepage.

FIND A PHOTO ONLINE:

  1.  Click on District 214 Library Resources.
  2.  Click on Images and Sounds.  Then click on Open Photo.
  3.  Question #3:  Copy and paste any photo from this site to your answer page.  Remember to use the “Paste Special…” option in the Edit menu.  Quick-save!
  4.  Return to the RMHS Library Homepage.
  5.  Click on District 214 Library Resources.

SEARCH FOR LITERATURE:

  1.  Click on Litfinder.
  2.  Under CONTEMPORARY WORK, search the works of Billy Collins.
  3.  Click on any title of a poem by Billy Collins.
  4.  Answer #4:  Copy and paste the first line of the Billy Collins poem onto your answer page.  Quick-save!
  5.  Return to the RMHS Library Homepage.

FIND A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE:

  1. Under ’Newspapers’ click onChicago Tribune (includes the RedEye).   In the search bar, type and enter, Gaza Strip.
  2.  Answer #5:  Copy and paste the title of any article about the Gaza Strip onto your answer page.  Quick-save!

TYPE YOUR ANSWERS TO THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

  1.  Answer #6:  What is the FIRST thing you do when you enter the library?
  2.  Answer #7:  When are you permitted to eat or drink in the library? 
  3.  Answer #8:  Which newspapers are available in the library?
  4.  Answer #9:  For how long may you checkout a magazine?
  5.  Print out your answer sheet and bring it to the front desk.
  6.  Quit MS Word.   Quit Safari.  Logout.  (Click on the blue apple in the top left corner and drag arrow down to ‘logout’.)   Never “shut down” the computer.
