CCR - Financial Aid Information
An important step in financing college is filling out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The government recommends completing the online application. You can, however, still download a hard copy of the form. Seniors and their parents/guardians can request, and be assigned, a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID), which is required to complete the FAFSA online. While FSA ID numbers can be obtained at the same time students begin their FAFSA, you are encouraged to request your FSA ID in advance of beginning your FAFSA.
NEW, BEGINNING WITH THE CLASS OF 2017: The completed FAFSA can be submitted after October 1, 2016. Students should take note of FAFSA deadline dates at the schools to which they are applying. Students are encouraged to submit their completed FAFSA by mid-November. Students can also call 1-800-433-3243 for Federal student aid information. FAFSA Completion Workshops:
District 214 will host its annual FAFSA completion workshop on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, in the Wheeling High School Library (900 S. Elmhurst Rd., Wheeling). Report to one of two sessions (6:30 and 7:30). No appointment necessary. Please bring:
- your completed 2015 Federal tax return, with W-2's and all attachments for students and parents
- student's driver's license number
- an asset summary (EXCLUDING home equity and retirement assets) for both the parent(s) and the student
- FSA IDs for both parent and student
Harper college will also be hosting two FAFSA Completion Workshops
(Tuesday, November 8, and Tuesday, December 6). You do not need to be attending Harper to attend the workshop. To register click HERE.
