For the 2017 fall musical, Rolling Meadows High School Theatre presents Andrew Lloyd Webber’s, Cats. Based on T.S. Eliot’s whimsical collection of poems, Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, this popular musical brings together a tribe of Jellicle Cats on a moonlit evening, who must make the “Jellicle choice” to decide which of them will ascend to the mysterious Heaviside Layer to be reborn. Featuring such celebrated standards as the haunting “Memory,” Cats was an international phenomenon and its original production is still the fourth-longest-running show on Broadway. A magical, moving, and often hilarious glimpse into the lives of others, Cats takes Eliot’s lyrical poetry and puts it into the mouths of a diverse company of singing, dancing felines.

Co-directed by Kate McNally and Britnee Kenyon, and choreographed by Reggie Good, Cats is a musical about storytelling. With vocal direction by Caitlyn Walsh, and pit direction by Kevin Carroll, the production is sure to entertain its audience. Set designer and technical director, Paul Fajks, lighting designer, John Sanchez, and costume designer, Heather Manzella, have encapsulated the urban junkyard of Cats.

Probing car lights tear across the darkened landscape of bottles and boxes, briefly catching the darting image of a running cat. Join the cast and crew on the one special night each year when the tribe of Jellicle Cats reunites to celebrate who they are. Watch the cats as they emerge singing of their unique abilities and special traits.

Performances are Wednesday, October 25th, at 6pm, and October 26th, 27th, and 28th, at 7:30pm. Tickets range from $5-$10 and can be purchased at the door or online here.
