12/3/18 ISCA Scholarship $1,000

Students who will be completing high school in 2019 are eligible for this non-renewable $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship can be used to support the following post-secondary options: 4 year college/university, 2 year college/university, trade school, apprenticeship program. All applications have to be submitted by Friday, January 25th, 2019 . Once finalists have been selected, all school counselors for finalists must be current ISCA members in order to move forward in the selection process. Student winners and their school counselors will be invited to attend one of the 2 ISCA conferences in April (Rosemont or Bloomington), to receive their award and to recognize their school counselor. By submitting a completed application, participants agree to allow the Illinois School Counselors Association to use the responses on their website for recognition purposes or for other communications about Illinois School Counselors. 1/9/19 Elysse's Mission Scholarship for Juniors and Seniors $5,000

Elyssa’s Mission® provides resources to help prevent teen suicide. The community-based organization was founded in 2006 in honor of Elyssa, a bright, gifted and outgoing Chicagoland girl who bravely battled post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. Elyssa’s Mission® provides hands-on support to area public and private schools in order to educate students, staff and parents on how to recognize and assist those teens most at-risk. Must be a H.S. Sr. or Jr. who has applied the ACT seeking technique; must submit a narrative work or a work of art to demonstrate their use of ACT to help themselves of a friend.
