Scholarship Opportunities

The following are scholarship opportunities received in the College and Career Room during the current year and are applicable for the following school year.  They are posted on this page and in Naviance as they arrive.  Applications can be accessed using the link.

9/20/18 Temple Hoyne Buell memorial Scholarship $1,000 

Three scholarships, each worth $1,000, are being offered to qualified incoming freshmen men to the University of Illinois. This scholarship is offered without regard to race, creed, color or religion. Acceptance into the membership of the fraternity is not required. The scholarship will be paid in a single amount of $1,000 in the Fall 2019 semester upon proof of full-time enrollment at the University of Illinois. Recipients will be those applicants who best exemplify the ideals of Chi Psi Fraternity intellectually, morally and socially. To be eligible for the scholarship you must apply to one of the following 9 WACE Partner Institutions listed on website; GPA 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale; apply for admission for the 2019-2020 academic year at institutions you select on the scholarship application; meet other merit scholarship criteria as established by the institution(s) selected on the application; must be a current h.s. senior; early applications are highly encouraged. D214 Robert Morris University four-year full tuition scholarship, two scholarships per D214 high schools; H.S. Sr. plans to attend Summer or Fall of ’19, any campus; recommendation letter form signed by Principal or Guidance Counselor; proof of RMU on-campus admissions interview; full-tuition scholarship after Map and Pell is applied; student is responsible for all fees and book charges; may not join with other RMU aid; undocumented students are eligible if other criteria; must maintain a 2.5 Cum GPA at RMU. 11/2/18 Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship $1,000-12,000

H.S. seniors pursuing a 4-yr. degree, on a full-time basis (min of 12 sem hrs), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university. Must be a U.S. Citizen. 12 scholarships offered to high school seniors from Arlington Hts., Buffalo Grove, Mt.Prospect, Prospect Hts., and Wheeling, IL; must attend a 2 or 4 yr college or university (full-time) or vocational, trade or technical  school (full or half time) in the 2019-20 school year; must have a min overall unweighted GPA of 3.0/4.0 for all academic scholarships or a 2.0/4.0 for the Vocational/Trade School scholarship; recipients are selected on academic achievement, financial need; activities; community involvement; written essay. Award will cover your tuition and fees up to a maximum of the amount; H.S. graduate as of Spring 2019; 2.5/4.0 or better GPA; intend to enroll full-time in an assoc or bachelor’s degree program at a Partner College no later than Spring term of 2019-2020 academic yr.; are eligible for in-state tuition at the Partner College you want to attend; (not applicable if it is a private Partner College); have current DACA or TPS or certify that you meet the DACA immigration eligibility criteria; arrived in the U.S. before your 16th birthday; have significant unmet financial need; 2 essays. One applicant will be chosen who best brings awareness to motorcycle safety.; create a form of social awareness that inspires other students to focus on Looking Twice for Motorcycle Safety – this can be  a video, artwork, essay or anything that would engage other students to focus on safe driving; H.S. sr. planning on attending college (or another form of higher education) for Fall of 2019.
